The Staten Island Yankees were a minor league baseball team located in the New York City borough of Staten Island from 1999 to 2020. Nicknamed the "Baby Bombers," they were the Class A Short Season affiliate of the New York Yankees and played in the New York–Penn League.
In 1999, the Staten Island Yankees became the first professional baseball team to play in Staten Island since the New York Giants in 1889. While awaiting construction of their permanent home, the team initially played at the Ballpark at the College of Staten Island before moving to Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George in 2001.
During their 20-year history, the Staten Island Yankees were remarkably successful on the field, winning six New York–Penn League championships (2000, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and 2011). Over a hundred Staten Island Yankees players reached the major leagues throughout the team's history. Unfortunately, the team ceased operations following the 2019 season when Major League Baseball's reorganization of the minor league system eliminated many teams, including the Staten Island Yankees and the entire New York-Penn League.
This t-shirt features our exclusive Staten Island Yankees logo with an authentically distressed, cracked, vintage feel that captures the nostalgic spirit of minor league baseball. The design appears on the front only, with a clean, blank back.
