San Francisco Seals Hockey — 1971–1973 Nostalgic Hockey Puck
Take home a piece of West Coast hockey history. The San Francisco Seals joined the Western Hockey League in 1961 and quickly became a Bay Area sensation, packing the Cow Palace in Daly City with thousands of passionate fans. Led by tough, talented players like Orland Kurtenbach, Nick Mickoski, and Charlie Burns, the Seals won back-to-back Patrick Cup championships in 1963 and 1964 — a first in WHL history. Their fierce rivalry with the Portland Buckaroos routinely drew crowds of 8,000 or more.
The magic faded when the NHL came calling. New ownership relocated the team across the bay to Oakland, rebranding them the California Seals and alienating the loyal San Francisco fanbase that had fueled the franchise from the start. Declining attendance, revolving-door ownership, and on-ice struggles followed the team into the NHL, ultimately leading to relocation and the franchise's disappearance from professional hockey altogether.
The original Seals, however, have never been forgotten. This nostalgic puck honors their legacy and belongs in the hands of every Bay Area hockey fan and collector.
