Plastiq T-Shirt - Fintech Payment Industry Bankrupt Logo Tee

Wear a piece of fintech payment processing history. Plastiq was a payment platform allowing businesses and consumers to pay bills with credit cards even when vendors didn't accept card payments. The company built a service enabling users to pay rent, taxes, suppliers, and other typically non-card-accepting payees with credit cards in exchange for fees, helping customers earn rewards points while giving them cash flow flexibility through credit card float.

Despite raising over $140 million and processing billions in payments, Plastiq faced insurmountable business model challenges. Credit card networks like Visa and Mastercard implemented new rules restricting third-party payment processing and increasing interchange fees, fundamentally undermining Plastiq's economics as the spread between fees charged to customers and costs paid to card networks evaporated. Customer acquisition costs remained high, fraud and payment failures created losses, the business model's thin margins couldn't sustain operations under new card network fee structures, and mounting losses as the core business became economically unviable created collapse. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2023.

This tee features the Plastiq logo with a distressed, cracked vintage aesthetic that marks this fintech payment processor's failure.

Product Features:

  • Premium Gildan 5000 heavy cotton (5.3 oz, 100% preshrunk cotton)
  • Classic unisex fit, available in sizes S-5XL
  • Multiple popular colors available
  • Front-printed logo with vintage distressed design
  • Blank back
  • Tear-away label for comfort
  • Advanced direct-to-garment printing for lasting quality

Perfect for fintech enthusiasts, credit card rewards hackers, small business owners, or anyone who used Plastiq to pay rent or bills with credit cards before the service collapsed.
