The Texans were a minor league basketball team in the Continental Basketball Association from 1988 to 1994 based in Wichita Falls, Texas, playing their games at D.L. Ligon Coliseum on the campus of Midwestern State University.
The team gained popularity among local basketball fans under the ownership of Lanham Lyne, with distinctive team colors of navy, fluorescent pink & fluorescent green that made their merchandise instantly recognizable. The highlight of the franchise came when the Texans won the CBA championship in 1991, defeating the Quad City Thunder in a thrilling seven-game series. Despite this success, the team faced financial challenges throughout its existence, with Lyne willing to absorb losses of a couple thousand dollars in most seasons, but struggling with a reported $300,000 loss during one particularly difficult year. Attendance issues contributed to the team's demise, as the year they won their championship, Wichita Falls had the lowest attendance in the entire CBA, averaging just over 1,600 fans a game. Ultimately, the team became the Chicago Rockers in 1994 when the franchise was relocated.
Our reproduction features the team's iconic logo with an authentically distressed, cracked, vintage feel that honors the original design while giving it that perfectly worn-in look of a treasured game-day shirt from the early '90s.
