The COVID-19 pandemic devastated the restaurant's outdoor patio-focused business model and live entertainment revenue, mounting commercial rent in prime Old Town Pasadena real estate, rising labor and food costs, changing neighborhood demographics and dining preferences, difficulties recovering foot traffic after pandemic closures, competition from new restaurants entering the revitalized Old Town district, and operational challenges sustaining an aging independent restaurant created insurmountable pressures. The restaurant closed permanently in 2022, ending over 50 years of Pasadena dining tradition.
